THE ALL IRELAND BROODMARE AND FOAL TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. Entries are confined to registered non-thoroughbred broodmares with a foal at foot
  2. Each mare and her foal will be judged as a unit: 60% for the mare and 40% for the foal.
  3. This competition is open to animals registered in a World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) studbook or a Department of Agriculture Food and The Marine (DAFM) approved studbook with recorded breeding.
  4. The mare’s passport will be inspected before judging commences. Exhibitors failing to produce a passport will be debarred from competing
  5. Qualified mares may not compete in other classes at Iverk Show.
  6. Foals are eligible to compete in the foal classes at Iverk Show.
  7. Foals must be led at all times 
  8. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show.
  9. These rules should be read in conjunction with the I.S.A Rules and the Iverk Show rules

PRIZES: Champion €1000; 2nd €600; 3rd €400; 4th €300; 5th €200; 6th €150; 7th to end €120
FINAL: Iverk Show Saturday 24th August 2024

All entries should be on the field by 9.00a.m. for judging to commence at 9.30a.m

We will be operating 7 showing rings at the same time.

RING 2: CONNEMARA PONIES IN-HAND; M&M IN-HAND; HUNTERPONY BREEDING IN-HAND;
             WELSH PONIES AND SHETLAND PONIES
RING 3: RIDDEN PONIES; M&M RIDDEN PONIES & CONNEMARA RIDDEN PONIES
RING 4: RIDDEN HORSES
RING 5: WORKING HUNTER HORSES (Judging commencing @10.30 SHARP)

RING 6: FAMILY PONY (Judging commencing @ 10AM SHARP)
RING 7: WORKING HUNTER PONIES (Judging commencing @ 10AM SHARP)

NOTE - In Classes 1 to  no prize will be awarded in respect of any animal, which in the opinion of the Society's Honorary Veterinary Surgeons, is not sound.

SUPREME IN HAND HORSE OR PONY OF THE YEAR

Clogher Valley Show will host qualifying classes for the Supreme In-Hand Championship, NEC, Birmingham, 9th- 13th October 2024. The objective of the competition is to find the supreme light horse or pony in-hand champion of the year, irrespective of breed or type (excluding heavy horses).

The Champion horse or pony from the following classes will be eligible to compete, provided it has not already won a qualifying round in 2024.
• (Please insert all eligible classes which qualify for the Supreme In-Hand Championship including the relevant class number at your show)

If the Champion has already qualified for Horse of the Year Show 2024 or is ineligible, then the Reserve Champion of that section may come forward, provided it has not already qualified and is eligible. If both Champion and Reserve Champion have already qualified for Horse of the Year Show 2024 or are ineligible then the section will not be represented in this qualifying round. Foal champions are not eligible.

In the event of a horse/pony having been awarded more than one section Championship at this show, that horse/pony will represent both/all sections and the qualification will not pass down to the Reserve Champion in the 2nd and any subsequent sections.

There will be no direct entry into Supreme In-hand Championship Qualifier, all animals must be a section champion or reserve champion (as applicable).

Prize Money CHAMPION £100 and Horse of the Year Show Champion Rosette and Sash
RESERVE CHAMPION £50 and Horse of the Year Show Reserve Champion Rosette
All prize money will be paid out after Horse of the Year Show 2024 by Grandstand Media Limited.
Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office.

All classes are open to Yearlings, 2 year olds, 3 year olds, Stallions, broodmares and barren mares only. Broodmares must be with foal at foot or a relevant certificate of pregnancy. Mares which have not yet foaled or that have lost their foals are eligible to enter with a relevant certificate of pregnancy for the following year.

Each section represented must consist of a minimum of two classes and a Championship.

Judges need not be registered on any society Judge’s panel but must possess sufficient experience to judge such a prestigious class.
Judges must not judge a Supreme In Hand Championship qualifier more than once every two years.

No entries permitted on day of event.
